Manawatū Food Stories is a regionally‑focused storytelling and event platform celebrating the local food ecosystem around Palmerston North and the wider Manawatū region. It highlights seasonal culinary experiences, local growers, and producers. Encouraging New Zealanders to explore regionally sourced food and community connections.
Opportunity
I was brought on to create the brand identity and website for Manawatū Food Stories, a platform celebrating the region’s growers, producers, and chefs through storytelling and seasonal dining experiences.
The goal was to build a cohesive brand and digital experience that felt warm, grounded, and community-focused. I crafted a tone of voice that felt conversational yet informative, reflecting the authenticity of the people behind the food. The visual language uses modern tones, handwritten text that comes to life when you scroll, and generous white space to let the imagery and stories shine.
Outcome
Designed and delivered a clear, content-rich Wix Studio website optimised for mobile and built to support both storytelling and event ticket sales.
Created CMS templates to profile the producers, giving each equal visibility and searchability
Integrated ticketing functionality directly into the site, eliminating the need for third-party platforms and ensuring a seamless purchase journey
Prioritised accessibility and intuitive navigation, supporting a wide demographic of event-goers
Delivered a visually distinctive digital identity that reinforced the region’s connection to storytelling, flavour and place
Curious how it all came together? I can share the process, results, and more — just drop me a message.
